sale at crossword. they claim to be offering upto 80-90 % discount. sale is going to be there till 2nd of october but i would recommend going as early as possible else u may not find good books.

crossword people have also come up with crossword lifetime membership for Rs 150 /- which makes u elgible for various offers from crossword.

got to eat traditional south indian food the traditional way ( on banana leaves ) courtesy mayni. yesterday myself and manish_compbug had our lunch at mayni's home. we both had planned to eat a lot , but unfortunately 2 days of fasting also didn't help much ( may be the strategy was wrong ).

Food was too good. Traditional south indian food, which included rice, sambar, rasam , 3-4 types of sabji's ( I don't remember the name exactly but i remember the taste very well :-) ) dahi, achar papad, payassam( i hope i remember the name correctly) etc. etc.

Food was great and the treatment royal. Though we had to travel some distance for getting that, but we could have travelled much more than that for such experience.

Got to meet , mayni's family ( her father, mother, and her brother) . all were very courteous and were trying everything possible to make us feel comfortable. but we were already feeling very comfortable. as usual mannerism was absent from our side, and we were sitting as if we were in our own home ( mayni's father had told us to feel at home, and we were doing the same : - ) how obedient we both are )


I'll never forget the royal treatment we got and the food .

after a long time i m writing a post ( in fact my second one ). i don't know why i always avoided writing posts, may be i didn't give it a serious thought or may be i was too serious about it ( cautious about what to write and what not to write ). anyways atlast i made up my mind ( to write atleast one ).

before writing any further i would like to put on records the efforts of peeyush, mayni , _op_ who always tried to convince me to write a post . so i thought of respecting their sentiments ( unfortunately this asks for a big effort from my side , infact i have already put a lot of effort as i am writing this post second time , courtesy power failure ).


the morning breakfast today was a special one today . almost one year has passed since i have come to mumbai. during this time , i have tried a number of restaurents and have been getting information about many others. sometimes about south indian food as well.

but most of the time i was not in a postion to make a comment as i didn't know the actual taste ( how it should taste ) . fortunately i got to have homely south indian food today, courtesy mayni. now i am in a position to be a part of discussions related to south indian food ( but i can comment only about some of the dishes ).

thanks to mayni as the task of bringing the food , in crowded central line locals, was quite demanding one .

i m looking forward to such treats from others also :-) .
